member must complete 25 tournaments/league games before becoming a
Tournament Director.

A
Tournament Director must have host 25 tournaments before becoming a
Head Tournament Director.

This
is to ensure that the individual is experienced in running
tournaments.

is to ensure that the individual is familiar with how tournaments are
conducted.

All
new TD's and HTD's must be approved by the Head
Admin/TD Manager.
-
All
new TD's and HTD's are required to have training for their new role.
-
Training
should be conducted by an Admin designated by the
Head Admin/TD Manager.
-
Each
TD should host at least 1 tournament every 7 days. If a TD does not complete 1 tournament within 7 days, an e-mail
will be send to them notifying that they need to host.

Each HTD should host at least 4
tournaments every 7 days, when a HTD does not complete their
tournaments within 7 days, an e-mail will be send to them to notifying
that they need to host.

After
10 days, the TD or HTD may be placed on vacation status by the TD
Manager.

When
a HTD that has not asked to be placed on vacation has not hosted in
40 days then they will be demoted to TD.
-
When
a TD that has not asked to be placed on vacation has not hosted in 40
days then they will be removed from TD.
-
Only 1
tournament should be scheduled
per timeslot, with
exception of King/Queen, BOS etc.
-
All
tournaments should be started within 10 minutes of the scheduled
timeslot.
-
If
a tournament does not start within 10 minutes, then the tournament
should be re-scheduled.
-
The only exception is if there are not
enough players which is at the TD to wait for more players.
-
A TD should always host with correct
id.
-
It is the responsebility of the TD to
check if the player plays with correct id, if player plays with an
incorrect (or incomplete) id a timer should be started and player have
that timer to enter room in correct id or will be dq from tournament.

Tournament
Directors should pay close attention to timers.
-
The
TD should make sure that each match starts after being announced.
-
If
both players appear to be present but not making a table, the TD can
make the table and invite both players.
-
If a player is missing, then the TD
should be invited in the table to start the timer.
-
If
both players timed out, then the player with the highest league rating
advances.
-
If
a match reaches the 20/30 minutes time limit, the TD should go to the
table and announce time.
-
The
player with the most points advances.
-
Note:
if one player is observed as playing slow, then the game can be
awarded to their apponent at the discretion of the TD.(after being
warned with a timer)

Each
TD should ensure that the rules-page of their tournaments has the
general tournament rules available.
-
These
rules should contain an link to the League Game Rules page and
reference the "location" description of the tournament which
should announce the game type.

The
game type specified in the location should match an set of rules on
the League Games Rules Page.
-
If
there are special rules for the tournament, then they should be
provided on the Tournament Rules page.

The
"location" description of a tournament should contain the
room-name and the game type. For example,
"doms-cuboid-6/100".

The
TD is responsible for advertising their tournaments starting at least
30 minutes prior to starting time.

Templates
for advertisement are available from the
TD
Corner.

The
basic requirement is that all advertisements contain the game type,
jumpnumber and link to League-page.
-
When
using Yahoo Messenger (YM) for sending advertisements, be aware of
users requesting to be removed from advertisements.
-
A Tournament
Director should not send more advertisements then once every 10
minutes in Yahoo Messenger, to prevent that Members get irritated by
too many spam's.

Be
sure to review your off-line messages for these type of responses
also.

Do
NOT send YM advertisements to people who are not a member of the
League unless they have requested the information.

A Tournament
Director is the face of the League and should stay Friendly and
Helpful at all times in Lobby chat, and not get caught up/argue
with Members and Non-Members.

When
you have a tournament scheduled that you will not be able to host, a
HTD should be found that can cover the tournament or the tournament
must be moved at 1 hour prior to start time.

A Head Tournament
Director should not close out a (covered) tournament of a other
Tournament Director, but leave it open.

A Tournament
Director should close out open (covered) tournaments as soon as
possible.

Tournaments
should be scheduled in advance if possible.

Try
to keep calendar filled with tournaments.
-
Many
players will check the calendar to see when they want to come and
play.

When
you know you are going to be available on a certain day, go ahead and
make some tournaments.

When
you come to play and see some open slots coming up, try to fill them
if possible.
-
Try
not to wait untill after the last tournament on the calendar is
finished before creating a tournament.

Daily
and weekly Specials need to be defined and communicated to all TD's.

The
Games Manager will manage these slots being filled.
-
This
includes Tag-games, Happy-Hour, Free Tournaments, etc..

The
Games Manager will contact TD's and HTD's for help in filling
these slots.

Monthly
Events will be coordinated by the Events Manager.

These
includes TOC, King/Queen, TD-Appreciation, etc..
-
The
Events Manager will contact TD's and HTD's for help in creating these
tournaments.

If
an TD or HTD needs help, they can contact any Admin for help.
